Moderated Caucus

A moderated caucus is when one delegate speaks at a time about a specific topic. Delegates are given a speaking time (usually around 30 seconds).

During a moderated caucus, you can:

  • Inform delegates about something related to the topic

  • Agree or disagree with something that has been said by another delegate

  • Add on to something someone else said

  • Ask a question to the group

To participate in a moderated caucus in virtual Model UN:

  • Click “Raise Hand”

  • Wait for the Chair to call on you

  • Click “Un-mute”

  • Share what you’d like to say

  • When finished, say “Thank you”

  • Click “Mute” when finished
